潮起钓鱼 · 潮落赶海 Fish the high tide. Walk the low tide.
A cozy island fishing adventure where the sea is never still. Fish the deep water when the tide is in. When it goes out, step off your boat and see what the sea has left behind.
The heart of the game
The sea rises and falls on a living clock. At high tide your boat can reach the deep fishing grounds. At low tide, sandbars, tide pools and cave mouths rise out of the water, and for a few minutes you can walk where you sailed a moment ago.
Sail out to rippling fishing spots and deep channels. Big fish come close to the reefs when the water is full.
Step off onto wet sand. Flip rocks, dig for razor clams, sweep a net through tide pools, find bottles with letters inside.
Spring tides pull the water further out than usual. Check the forecast, plan your day, and be back on your boat before the flood.
What you'll do
01
Sail to shimmering fishing spots, charge your cast, and play the line as the fish fights back. Every island's water holds different fish, and some only bite at dusk, in the rain, or when the tide is turning.
02
When the water draws back, the shore becomes a treasure map. Look for two small holes in the sand and dig. Turn over rocks for crabs. Net the tide pools. Sell your haul at the dock, or turn it into bait for tomorrow.
03
Each island has a legend: a giant fish with a name, who only shows up when the conditions are just right. They run, leap and dive in multi-stage battles. Learn their signs, wait for their tide, and bring them in.
04
Rebuild the old dock with Xiaoman the boatwright. Relight the lighthouse that has been dark for years. Reopen the research station on the coral atoll. Every restoration changes the islands and opens up new waters.
The story
Grandma Lin watched over these islands for most of her life. Now her old boat is yours, and her letters keep washing up in bottles, half-buried in sandbars, tucked into crab traps. Each one points to a place the sea only reveals at the right tide.
Follow them across six islands, and down into a sea cave that opens only at the lowest spring tide.
"Don't rush. Wait until the water settles before you cross. Before the flood, the path will quietly sink back under the sea."
— from Grandma Lin's first letter
Fish market owner
"When the tide goes out, don't just sit there fishing."
Boatwright
"New piles are in! Listen, even the waves sound different now."
Researcher, coral atoll station
"Interesting. Please, write down where you found it."
The former tide keeper, in letters only
"Put back every stone and shell you step past."
Your companion at sea
Lands on your bow, points the way, and warns you when the tide turns.
Made for your evenings
No swords, no monsters. The excitement lives in the water: a running fish, a turning tide, a storm at night.
A full tide cycle takes about twenty minutes. Play one before dinner, or keep sailing all night.
Weather, spring and neap tides, and the people of the isle change what you'll find each time you return.
Shrink the game into a small window and let your boat fish quietly while you work.
